I’m a writer and journalist who reports and produces for Arts Access, a journalism partnership between KERA and The Dallas Morning News. As a member of the Arts Access team, I tell arts and culture stories through the lens of access and equity. I’m also a 2023-2024 Poynter-Koch fellow and worked on an innovation project bringing media literacy into local communities.
Previously, I freelanced as a modern arts reporter at Houstonia Magazine and a features reporter at the Houston Chronicle. After graduating from Rice University, I worked as a news fellow covering politics and breaking news at CNBC. My work has been published by APM’s Marketplace, NPR’s Weekend Edition, cnbc.com, Yahoo! Finance, The Houston Chronicle, Associated Press, and Houstonia Magazine. I’m also an alum of Poynter’s Power of Diverse Voices program.
My reporting on Asian American communities won a regional Edward R. Murrow award and Texas Broadcast News Award. I also reported on Dallas County’s weatherization assistance program for Season 2 of KUT’s award-winning podcast The Disconnect that looks into Texas’ catastrophic 2021 blackout.
